Studio Manager/Operations Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Studio Manager/Operations Manager to take responsibility for the scheduling, trafficking, management, sign off and control of client projects across their Planning, Conception, Design, Copy and Artworking disciplines. This is a hybrid role which includes operations management and finance support, and ideally suited to an individual who enjoys running a tight ship and thrives on being organised, but also accommodates the need for ‘creative scheduling’.

The Studio Manager’s role is key to getting client work turned around within deadline and to the highest standards of creative, execution and accuracy. If you are used to mediating, are flexible, quick-thinking and organised this is the role for you. You must love solving problems, be adept at anticipating changing workloads and happy to collaborate professionally with Planners, Creatives and Client Services alike. You will be responsible for managing all work through the planning and creative departments, policing our briefing process and managing the daily schedule.

Reporting into the Creative Director you will flag the requirement for additional resource, update the schedule when additions or changes are required and ensure the planning and creative teams have sufficient information to do what they do best.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all new briefs into the studio, helping account handlers to put together accurate project specifications and timelines

Holding weekly WIP meetings to keep the team up to speed on the scheduling status and alert senior stakeholders to any capacity or resource concerns

Scheduling and managing the daily/weekly/monthly workload of the planning and creative department, supporting the Client Services teams to get the resource they require, when they require it

Ensuring that all studio requirements received are of suitable quality to be scheduled and to push back for further definition when needed

Supporting the Creative management team’s workload and booking internal planning, brainstorm and review meetings/sessions

Assisting the Creative Director to oversee the quality of jobs, making sure they are on track, on time and on budget.

Proof checking and quality management of all final studio outputs to make sure they match brief template specifications and brand guidelines before submitted to client services and client release

Flagging freelance requirements as and when required and organising freelance bookings

Ensuring our planning and creative processes are adhered to across all departments

Finance Support

Invoicing to clients

Supplier reconciliations

Purchase Ledger input

Skills and Experience required:

At least 3 year’s integrated agency experience, ideally within a digital marketing environment

At least 1 years’ experience managing studio traffic resources and workflows

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Good people management skills

Exceptional ‘fire-fighting’ skills – must have the ability to professionally and efficiently resolve an issue as and when it arises

Must have a thorough understanding around the creative process, and have the mindset to think ahead before each required step

Logical thinker

Resourcing/traffic experience

Must be able to multi-task

A calming influence – you’re the type of person to diffuse a situation and sort it out logically

Bonus Skills (not essential):

Experience of Trafficing software

Digital design, artwork, programming or production skills and/or digital project management skills to support the team in busy periods

The department carries out research projects on behalf of clients seeking to develop business strategies and greater insight into markets, territories, industries or accounts that they wish to develop.

Research engagements can either be bespoke, or based on specific service packages developed for their clients.

Working to client briefs developed in conjunction with the Head of Department and Client Services teams, The Research Manager will deliver or manage any contract/temporary staff who are conducting primary and secondary research (online and via telephone research) to gather data and intelligence, and will be responsible for the output of high quality reports synthesising the information into clear conclusions and insights.

Key responsibilities of the role are:
Management of any contract/freelance analysts including working on your own projects
Planning and resourcing projects
Scoping and budgeting projects with the Client Services team
Full ownership and delivery of market research projects in the IT/Hi-Tech industry, conducting primary and secondary research through a variety of methods: eg: phone, online, surveys, social media etc
Working directly with clients throughout each engagement
Presenting and explaining research methodologies and results to clients and internal stakeholders
Developing proficiency in agency research products, and continually contribute to the development and refinement of these offerings

Desired Skills and Experience
Proven experience in market research, analysis, report writing and presentation in the B2B and Technology market – minimum of 3-5 years
Clear experience and training in qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies
Experience of scoping projects and managing to budget/deadline
Ability to work with a great degree of autonomy, taking full ownership of projects and delivering results to brief and to deadline with minimal supervision
Creative and lateral thinking; pro-actively finding solutions to achieving end-results or overcoming issues as they arise during the course of a project
Robust writing skills and a good appreciation of layout and presentation; ability to produce highly professional and credible reports, setting out qualitative and quantitative data and key messages in a clear and compelling manner
